United Methodist Church – to – Global Methodist Church
In a called Church Conference, under the supervision of our District Superintendent, and according to the UMC Book of Discipline, Alliance United Methodist Church, on July 10, 2022, approved the Alliance UMC Council’s recommendation to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church and join the Global Methodist Church (GMC).

What does that mean for us going forward?

Relationships, worship services, classes, giving, doctrine, and our love for all people will remain as they are now.

When do we officially become a part of the Global Methodist Church?

 November 1, 2022.

A special-called conference of the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church will meet September 17, 2022, to ratify disaffiliation requests like ours. Until then, we remain a faithful and loyal congregation of the United Methodist Church.

How Can I Learn More?

More information will be presented in the weeks and months ahead.

Our hope for Alliance is to grow as a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, Bible-believing church that loves God and all people. As the body of Christ, we are subject to all the frailties of the human condition and the pressures of society. As Paul says, “All fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). At the same time, we are called and commanded to pursue a Biblical standard of holiness, love, and inclusiveness without compromising the holy standard in pursuit of it. As the Lord told the people of God, “You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own” (Leviticus 20:26). Lord, guide us by your Spirit. Amen!I
