Alright, Alright, Alright!

When the Spirit speaks, are we willing to say “alright”? Philip’s encounter with the Ethiopian eunuch reminds us that witnessing isn’t about our power—it’s about the Spirit working through us.

In this message from Acts 8:26–40, we continue our journey through the book of Acts and discover what it truly means to be a witness for Jesus Christ. Philip’s story with the Ethiopian eunuch is not about his own ability or boldness—it’s about his willingness to say “alright” when the Spirit called. Too often, we think witnessing depends on our knowledge, our strength, or our courage. But Philip reminds us that it is the Holy Spirit who prepares hearts, opens doors, and speaks through us.

From walking a dangerous desert road to explaining Isaiah 53, Philip simply said “alright” each time the Spirit prompted him. This posture of obedience allowed him to participate in God’s redeeming work already unfolding in the eunuch’s life. The same is true for us: when we listen for the Spirit’s voice and set aside the noise of the world and our own pride, we step into the joy of being true witnesses—not just churchgoers.
