Are you yoking? In Acts 15 the church faces a vital question: are we putting back on people the burden Jesus already lifted? This message unpacks law vs. grace—and why only Christ makes the unclean clean.
Building on last week’s look at Cornelius, this message continues with the Jerusalem Council, where early believers wrestled over whether Gentiles must follow Jewish law to be saved. Peter and Paul remind the church that God has already poured out His Spirit on those who believe—not because of what they’ve done, but because of their faith in Christ. We look at why the law was ever given: to show us our sin, reveal our need for grace, and point us to the One who fulfilled it perfectly. Jesus took our penalty upon Himself, declaring on the cross, “It is finished.” True righteousness, Paul explains, doesn’t come from rituals or rule-keeping but from a transformed heart—a heart made new by faith. Jesus invites us to lay down the burdens of legalism and take up His easy yoke, resting in His mercy and grace. The call is simple and profound: trust Christ fully, receive His grace freely, and allow the Spirit to shape your life from the inside out.
