God didn’t save us to sit still—He saved us to be sent. Discover what it means to step out of “base camp” and into the mission field with Christ’s love, healing, and hope.
This sermon by Pastor Jim continues our Core Four series by focusing on “The Field," which is the call to live as sent people in the world. Scripture shows that following Christ is not just about personal salvation, but about joining His mission to bring healing, freedom, and hope to others. In Luke’s Gospel, Jesus establishes who He is as Messiah through acts of healing and liberation, then sends His followers into the world to do the same. We are reminded that church is not an end in itself but a “base camp” where we are equipped, encouraged, and resupplied so that we can be sent into our neighborhoods, families, and communities with the Good News. The challenge is not only what we proclaim—that Christ heals and liberates—but also how we proclaim it, through humility, gentleness, and Spirit-led love. The field is plentiful. The question is, will we step into it?
