What does it mean to step into the forge of discipleship? In this message, we explore how God uses small, honest, grace-filled groups to refine us into the image of Christ.
This sermon launches our Core Four series with a focus on The Forge—the deep, refining work of discipleship and accountability. Drawing from Scripture, Pastor Jim unpacks how the image of a forge reflects God’s work in shaping His people. Just as metal is refined in fire, we too are molded through confession, repentance, and the grace we experience in community.
Wesleyan band meetings, modern discipleship groups, and intimate circles of trust are not optional extras for spiritual growth, rather, they are essential. In these settings, believers shed their masks, share struggles, and encounter the transforming grace of Christ. The sermon reminds us that while justification changes our status the moment we say “yes” to Christ, sanctification is a lifelong process, and the forge is where real transformation takes place.
Whether through Alliance’s Monday night discipleship groups or other gatherings, the invitation is clear: step into the forge, experience God’s grace, and be shaped for His mission in the world.
